Tottenham Hotspurs Fire Jose Mourinho

Tottenham Hotspurs Football Club have fired their coach, Jose Mourinho over a poor run of results which has left the London club in 7th in the Premier League table and humiliatingly dumped out of the Europa competition by Dinamo Zagreb.

“The club can today announce that José Mourinho and his coaching staff João Sacramento, Nuno Santos, Carlos Lalin and Giovanni Cerra have been relieved of their duties”, a statement by the club read.

On his part, chairman of Tottenham Hotspurs, Daniel Levy said, “José and his coaching staff have been with us through some of our most challenging times as a club. José is a true professional who showed enormous resilience during the pandemic. On a personal level I have enjoyed working with him and regret that things have not worked out as we both had envisaged. He will always be welcome here and we should like to thank him and his coaching staff for their contribution.”

Tottenham Hotspurs become the first club Jose Mourinho will manage in 20 years without winning a trophy. The opportunity for him to change that was the coming Carabao Cup final on Sunday but he was not given that luxury.
