Nigeria as 2nd Most Terrorised Country In the World, an Indication of a Failed Government – Iwunoh
The recent ranking of Nigeria as the second most terrorised nation in the world only after Iraq by Acclaimed Global and International Terrorism Research/Analysis group which speciallizes in collating data on terrorist’s activities worldwide, Jihad Analytics has been described as “an indication of a failed government” in the country.

Stating this in a chat with News Medal Monday, a security professional, Mr Chuks Peter Iwunoh who is also the President and Founder of Impact Alliance for Peace and Humanitarian Development (IAPHD) and a Member of International Institute of Professional Security (IIPS), said if Nigerian government officials had any sense of responsibility to its citizens, heads would have rolled by now in the nation’s defence sector.
He expressed shock that no relevant government official had deemed it necessary to resign from office nor anyone sacked over the woeful security situation and said it was a confirmation that the government takes such gory situation as normal.
Mr Iwunoh further lamented that security agencies in the country have nothing to show for the constant increase in fund allocation to the sector from N626.39billion in 2015 to N1.87trillion in 2021, saying it is a shame that Nigeria could be better than only Iraq in terrorist attacks on citizens and state. He said it calls for an overhauling of the nation’s security architecture.
